The 7 Essential Lessons ‘Eat.Pray.Love’ Reminded Me About Personal Growth

  • Change is part of the life process.

You might view change as uncomfortable, scary, and unnecessary in times of your life.  You may not be prepared for it or the timing is just all wrong. However, change is hard but necessary for personal growth. If you stay stuck and stagnant, you’re not allowing yourself to manifest and you’re also squandering the opportunities waiting for you on the other side of fear.

  • We must choose joy despite what is going on in our lives.

Whew. This one is tough at times, but what doesn’t kill you makes you stronger. Also remember that you go through different feelings and moods day by day. Pain is never an option people want to experience, go through, or see someone they love go through it. But some pains lead to growth (there goes that word again.). Here is a scripture that’s a gentle reminder of choosing joy over your life.

Proverbs 17:22 “A joyful heart is good medicine, but a crushed spirit dries up the bones.”

  • Don’t let your background or past stop you from the life that you want.

Maybe you’re supposed to be the next family millionaire. Maybe you’re supposed to be the one to break generational curses. Maybe you’re the next leader who will inspire the world. The truth is we all have a past and we can’t spend the present dwelling on the mistakes, what-ifs, and the things that are holding us back. You owe it to yourself to move forward and create a life that you’re happy with.

  • Before something great happens, everything falls apart.

Turn your lessons into testimonies. It’s also painful when you’re breaking through your breakthrough. The pain is worth it in the end. You receive the gifts of strength and compassion. Every storm is temporary. Keep standing. This too shall pass.

  • My peace of mind is essential.

I am a firm believer of revoking toxic people’s access to me. I will remove myself from any negative vibe that doesn’t align or serve me purpose. You will never be able to control what a person does, say, or thinks, but you always have control over who and what you react to and how you react to it. The master key is applying that mindset to every situation in your life. The things you do and believe in make up your peace. Don’t let anyone take that from you.

  • It is never too late to find your authenticity.

It is never to late to start over again….and that applies to everything in life.

  • Eat. Pray. Love.

Bon Apetit, yes I love to eat! The title Eat.Pray.Love. is a powerful life affirmation in itself. When you eat your favorite dish, it makes you happy inside. When you pray, it starts a path towards letting go of pain and gaining your true self.
