I remember the first time Mark Caesar made me laugh. It was seven years ago when Team Piss Yo Pants Comedy released the forever viral video, “S**t New Orleans Girls Say” and I’ve been a fan of him ever since. As a stand-up comedian and the writer of the stage play When You’re Broke You’re Drove, Mark continues to make his fans laugh through stand-ups, funny skits, and his new comedy special. This is definitely a man that shows no signs of stopping! I caught up with Mark as we discussed his accomplishments and what success truly means to him.

 

What did you want to be as a child?

MC: “As a child I wanted to be a medical doctor.”

As a comedian and making people laugh for years, what are some of the most memorable moments when you first started comedy?

MC: “Some of the most memorable moments were when I was first starting out I wasn’t old enough to be in the clubs that I was performing in so I had to earn my way into them.”

 Which of your traits are you most proud of?

MC: “I’m just happy that I’m blessed with the ability to make people laugh. You never know what someone is going through and if I can put a smile on someone face it makes me proud.”

 How would you define success?

Being able to provide for my family and live comfortably is success to me. Everything else is extra.

Has a mistake ever led you to success? 

MC: “God doesn’t make any mistakes, She (God) gave me this talent and I’m doing her will.”

What are some of your favorite skits/acts you’ve performed in your career?

MC: “Everything from my new comedy special (Comedy Money)  is my favorite joke lol. “

 What do you do when you’re feeling uninspired or experiencing a creative rut?

MC: “I go To open mics and just try and workout some new stuff.”

MC: “Just the ability to change someone’s day for the better.”
