Two Psychological Thriller Books That Had Me Hooked

Hey!

Don’t you just love a good book?

I’ve always had a love for books which was the main reason I became a writer. The art of storytelling has a way of capturing your feelings like no other feeling in the world. When you find a good book that takes you into another world, every moment is appreciated from the characters to the situations that take place. Some books also give a thrill that makes you feel like you’re on a crazy roller coaster ride keeping you screaming at the characters as if they can actually hear you through the pages! The two roller coasters that I currently rode on were Freida McFadden’s The Housemaid & the sequel The Housemaid’s Secret...

Whew! Talk about two books that kept me wide-eyed wanting more. Both were definitely psychological thrillers that I would read again and I highly recommend to the thriller lovers.

The Housemaid was the first book that I ever read by Freida McFadden and I instantly fell in love with her style of writing: short, sweet, and to the point not leaving the reader hanging. I came across The Housemaid when it was time for me to host for N.E.R.D.S. which is the book club I’ve been a member of for almost three years now. The members and I read diverse books of every genre throughout the year, but I must say The Housemaid was one of our favorite reads so far and we rated it a 10/10! That is very hard for us because we don’t take our critiques lightly when it comes to a GOOD book! After I finished The Housemaid, it was only right that I read the sequel, The Housemaid’s Secret, which also kept me on my toes! Both books were quick page-turners. I loved the plot twists served by both of them.

I’m not going to give any spoilers for the ones who haven’t read it yet, but I will give a snippet of what the series is about. Both stories are focused on the main character Wilhelmina “Millie” Calloway, a housemaid who discovers secrets about the families she works for. Somehow, Millie always get caught up in the middle of CRAZY situations because she is always trying to help other people and her definition of “help”…well, it ends up being deadly sometimes. When I thought I had the story figured out…BOOM! Here come another plot twist LOL. As crazy as Millie seems, she was definitely my favorite character in both books! As I’ve said before, you have to read the books for yourself and experience the roller coaster ride that I’m talking about! The next book I will be reading by McFadden is her latest novel The Teacher.

What book has you on a roller coaster right now?!
