Why You Should See The Sci-Fi Thriller ‘Level 16’

Hey my loves,

Last week, a film titled Level 16 came on television. Initially, the short bio about the film piqued my interest, so I watched it. At first, the film gave me The HandMaid’s Tale vibe portraying teenage girls living in a board school prisoner-type kind of way.

Level 16 is about Sixteen-year-old Vivien is trapped in The Vestalis Academy, a prison-like boarding school, keeping to herself and sticking her neck out for no one. Until she is reunited with Sophia — the former friend who betrayed her. Together the girls embark on a dangerous search to uncover the horrifying truth behind their imprisonment. Soon running for their lives, the girls must save themselves or die trying.

I will say Level 16 was an overall good sci-fi film.  One of my favorite things about the film is Vivien’s and Sophia’s friendship and the true meaning of loyalty being tested throughout the film. The film also covered a deeper meaning about the extreme lengths people go through for the fountain of youth, no matter what the costs may be.

Level 16 is the perfect Friday night sci-fi thriller and I give the film 4/5 stars!! The film was written and directed by Danishka Esterhazy. The cast includes Katie Douglas as Vivien, Celina Martin as Sophia, Sara Canning as Miss Brixil, Peter Outerbridge as Dr. Miro, and Shelia McCarthy as Mrs. Denison.
