What inspired you to become a fashion blogger?

SP: “I had a lot of creative outlets in high school. When I stepped into young adulthood, I felt I know longer had a way to express myself creatively and artistically. At the time of my blog launch, I was working retail and started to become very interested in fashion. I wanted a way to express my creativity and love for fashion, so I got the idea to start posting my daily outfits on Instagram. I actually had no idea fashion blogging via Instagram was a thing. I instantly found community and started to learn more about blogging.”

What are some of your best  memorable affordable finds that you found shopping?

SP: “Honestly, I’ve found so many fun pieces thrifting and shopping secondhand. I think that style is about how you put something together versus where you purchased it. I still have so many thrifty pieces in my closet. One of my favorites being a gorgeous floral maxi skirt that has gotten a ton of wear.”

What is a typical day like for you?

SP: “I work full time as a social media manager for a brand during the day. I was able to land the position due to my experience with social media marketing through running my blog. I’ve already learned so much that I’ve been able to bring back to blogging. I work on that from 10-6 everyday, and I blog evenings and weekends. That entails producing and posting new content, interacting with my followers, and communicating with and collaborating with brands.”

What are some other blogs you love and are subscribed to?

@officiallyquigley is a big influence on me and other favorites include @vandifair and @dressupbuttercup

What’s the best advice you received when you first starting out?

Focus on nurturing your audience through quality content and by providing them with value. It’s easy to get caught up in the numbers game on social media, especially because those numbers determine the success of our business. However, all of that will follow if you focus on your audience and showing up for them.”

Has a mistake or life lesson ever led to success?

SP: “Of course! I’m a big believer that you can’t succeed until you fail because growth comes from failure. I look back at my content from when I first started and get embarrassed, but I also get so proud when I see my growth.”

What keeps you consistent and disciplined when you feel like giving up?

SP: “I think about all the times I’ve been able to form connections and influence others in a positive way through my content.  I also think about what I’ve accomplished and what my end goal is.”

What’s the best advice you have for new and old bloggers who wants to elevate their brand?

SP: “Never stop trying to learn. I think it’s so important to constantly be seeking resources and mentorship to continue to hone your craft. Blogging is such a saturated industry and it’s constantly changing and growing. There’s always something to learn.”

How would you describe your personal style? Who are some of your favorite brands and designers?

SP: “I’m a big fan of boutiques because you can find unique styles as well as dupes for designer items. I also love to support businesses ran by women. I would describe my personal style as feminine, trendy, colorful, and fun.”

How do you remain positive after a rough day?

SP: “I love to make a list of what I’ve accomplished and/or what I’m grateful for. It’s easy to get distracted by the little things and it can help put things into perspective by looking at the big picture. “
