6 Things To Do When Your Faith is Tested

Good morning my loves,
Last night, I stayed up until 2am writing, and the topic of faith never left my brain. Before I finally went to bed, I prayed and asked God to guide me through the things I don’t understand, and the strength to change the things I need to change to evolve into the person I want to be.
If you’re looking at my life through social media, it looks good, right? I’m blessed. My personal brand is expanding. I’m doing what I love and God is leading the way.  But let me tell you…through all the joy and blessings, there are sacrifices and tests being made behind closed doors, the doors that only God sees and is preparing me for. At this very moment, I’m going through trails that I had to give to God. I’ve learned to trust God with everything and since I’ve mastered this mindset, I worry less and live more. In order to keep my peace and still remain to have joy through whatever I’m going through, I trust God and lean on his understanding rather than my own.
There are things going on in my life that I don’t understand, but I know that its necessary in order for me to win my next season. God already knows all the answers to my problems. To show me the answers, he is testing my faith and what I’m sacrificing. When your faith is tested, you have to believe in what God promised you.
“Now Faith is the substance of thing hoped for, the evidence of things not seen.” – Hebrew 11:1
It is so easy to have joy and be graceful when things are going right in your life. You just bought a house, got a new promotion, started a new business, etc. Everything in your life is perfect in your eyes. Then BOOM! Here comes the trails and tribulations. Here comes the weapons and the spiritual warfare trying to attack you. Hence, I said “trying”.
No weapon formed against you shall prosper, And every tongue which rises against you in judgment
You shall condemn.
This is the heritage of the servants of the Lord,
And their righteousness is from Me,”
Says the Lord.   –Isaiah 54:17
The thing is, tests are not meant to be fun. Tests are life lessons and struggles that we go through for various reasons, but it always leads to a breakthrough, a season where God is changing you. Adrian Rogers once said, “A Faith that hasn’t been tested can’t be trusted.” The greatest weapon the enemy uses when you’re being tested is psychological warfare. Rejoice in your trials.
For you know that when your faith is tested, your endurance has a chance to grow. -James 1:3
Here are 6 things to do when your faith is being tested.
1.) Seek Guidance
God wants you to talk to him. He yearns to have a personal relationship with you. When life gets in the way and we put things before him, he will send signs that will remind us that patience is a virtue.
2.) Remember Weapons Shall Form, but they will not prosper.
You probably think everything looks bad right now and you don’t see a solution or answer to any of your problems. Remember God is the teacher and sometimes he is silent when we are going through our tests just to see how serious we are about our faith.
3.) Fasting
Fasting gives you clarity and it makes your discernment stronger when you put in the time to develop a deep personal relationship with God. The reward doesn’t come without sacrifice. Take a break or give up something that takes away a lot of your time. Use this time to pray and think about all the things God does for you on a daily basis. Sacrificing time to serve him is an act of love that does not go unnoticed.
4.) Be around positive people.
When you’re going through trials and tribulations, the last thing you want to be around is negative energy. Find people you can learn from and ones who spread positive energy. Their energy will brush off on you and you’ll notice how your attitude transforms for the better even during your trails.
5.) Sometimes, sacrifice is the simple solution.
Some tests are brought to our life by things we have reaped in our life, good or bad. To bear good fruit means you have to grow the tree first, and the root is you. What are you willing to sacrifice to get towards your breakthrough. Remember faith without works is dead.
6.) Trust and Believe
Know what God is love. He is still the same God he was during your best seasons. He is still the same loving God during your trails. When your faith is tested, know that God hasn’t forgotten about you. He is simply preparing you for greater things.
Until next time,
Zip.
