Focus Now. Bloom Later.

Hey my loves,

Everyone knows that Sunday is the most efficient day of the week. This is the day where we reflect, think about the following week ahead, and focus on our weekly goals. Sunday is also the main day where we chill with God, watch the games, and spend time with the people we love. As we wander through life, we go through transitions. We go through periods where we feel on top of the world, and also the periods where we feel like we’ve hit rock bottom. What we go through is what we focus on. Our minds start to wrap around it, the good and the ugly. The beauty of it is a coccon can turn into a butterfly.

In good times, we feel like a butterfly. In tough times, we feel like we are still wrapped in a cocoon that we thought we escaped. I came across this quote that stayed stuck in my head when I feel like I’m not blossoming as I wish.

“As with the butterfly, adversity is neccessary to build character in people.

When I wrote my ebook, “I have a poem…” I was in a space where I felt open and willing to do whatever God asked me to. Fear creeped in as I thought about how long I’ve published a book, which had been over a year ago. Pushing fear to the side, I published it, thinking like a butterfly. What the caterpillar calls the end of the world, the master calls a butterfly. Don’t let your setbacks discourage you from following your passion. In order to grow, we have to learn and transform. When you think about fruit, you just think about the end product, which is the fruit. But the fruit had to come from the beginning, which is the root. The root is you.

Stick to your gifts and keep stirring them. God is not bugging you for no reason. Trust me lol. The longer you put your goals to the side, the more he will bug you about them! It’s a tough love that I appreciate deeply.

You did not choose me, but I chose you and appointed you that you should go and bear fruit and that your fruit should abide, so that whatever you ask the Father in my name, he may give it to you. – John 15:16

Go where you want to grow. Set goals for yourself and get uncomfortable. Allow time and life to develop. Things don’t happen overnight.

Metamorphosis has always been the greatest symbol of change for poets and artists. Imagine that you could be a caterpillar one moment and a butterfly the next. -Louie Schwartzberg
